1. Nature of the Study
This data collection system is a tool for the academic research study "Usefulness of Biometric Data from Wearable Devices for Dementia Screening: A Preliminary Study" (the "Study"). It is not a medical service and does not provide diagnosis or treatment.
2. Eligibility
Eligible participants are residents of Shimonoseki City aged 50 to 71 who have not been diagnosed with dementia (target: 40 participants). Participation requires explanation by a research staff member and the participant's informed consent.
3. Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal
Participation is entirely voluntary. Participants may withdraw at any time without penalty or disadvantage. To withdraw, please complete the Research Consent Withdrawal Form provided by the research staff and submit it to the research office, or contact us directly at the address below. Upon withdrawal, no further data will be collected.
4. Data Use Scope
Data are used exclusively for academic research purposes. No commercial or advertising use occurs.
5. Data Management and Retention
Research data are securely stored within Shimonoseki City University (Japan). Access is limited to authorized research personnel. After the 14-day participation period ends, a research staff member will revoke the OAuth access permission for your Google account, and data collection will cease immediately. Research data are retained for 10 years after study completion under the management of the principal investigator, then permanently deleted.
